MathsOnline works by providing students with access to a range of video lessons, interactive activities, and assessments that are designed to cover the Indian CBSE curriculum from Grade 9 – Grade 12. Students can work through these resources at their own pace and can access them on any device with an internet connection.

Students can take an assessment test to determine their current level of understanding in various maths topics. Based on the assessment, the program identifies a personalized learning plan for each student and a pathway to success.

MathsOnline delivers concise, easy to understand video lessons led by internationally acclaimed teacher Pat Murray.

After each lesson, students are given practice exercises to reinforce their understanding of the concepts covered in the lesson. These exercises are graded in real-time, providing instant feedback to the student.

The program tracks each student's progress and provides detailed reports to both the student and their teacher or parent. This allows for ongoing assessment and adjustment of the personalized learning plan as needed.

Overall, MathsOnline offers a comprehensive approach to learning maths, with engaging lessons and instant feedback to help students achieve success in this important subject.

Yes. With a MathsOnline membership you have access to all lessons from Grade 9 - Grade 12. There are no restrictions allowing freedom to move back and forward.

As a parent you can access detailed results, progress, and scores at any time online. Most parents choose to receive the weekly progress report which is sent direct to your email every week. To do this, just login to the Parents' Area, select your settings and check the 'Weekly Reports' option. There is also the facility within the Parents' Area to view detailed reports at any time.

An even better measure of how well a student really understands the lesson. It encourages and rewards a student, who tries more questions to reach and succeed at the higher difficulty levels.

After a student answers a question, the next question chosen is based on an adaptive algorithm. What that simply means is that the questions adjust in difficulty based on the student's ability.

Mastery is measured as the HIGHEST DIFFICULTY level that a student achieves for that lesson. A 4-star mastery level means they have been able to answer the most difficult questions.

Login to the Parents' Area select your settings and uncheck the report or newsletter box.

For most worksheets the answers are in multiple-choice format. Multiple-choice worksheets have a set of questions and possible answers. The answers are jumbled and there are extra, incorrect answers to avoid guessing.
The symbols and notation used in maths quickly goes beyond what can be readily typed using a keyboard. Radical symbols, superscript and subscript characters, pi, theta, degrees, minutes and seconds... Although easily written by hand, it is difficult trying to enter such answers into a program.
The nature of some topics, especially in the higher end courses, do not lend themselves easily to multiple-choice-style answers. Sketching Graphs and Geometric Proofs are good examples of this. In these cases, once the worksheet is completed, the student views the detailed worked solutions, to their own understanding of the steps in solving the questions. Students use the solutions and marking to be able to grade themselves appropriately. Please note that the vast majority of lessons contain multiple-choice answers, and that the self-graded lessons are mainly found in the Algebra and Geometry course.

There are two major differences.

Firstly, there is a video tutorial for every Maths concept in the Indian CBSE curriculum from Grade 9 - Grade 12. This means that the student is in complete control of the learning process and can learn at their own pace, in a safe and secure environment, by stopping, rewinding or repeating the lesson at anytime.

Secondly, MathsOnline is designed to be distraction-free. The program is solely focused on the Indian CBSE curriculum and is streamlined to maximise student engagement.
MathsOnline fully assesses students' understanding after each lesson with questions drawn randomly from a large bank of questions, which are then marked and recorded. There are also worksheets available for older students.

As the student works through each question, they receive instant feedback as the correct answers are acknowledged as such and correct answers given if an incorrect response is made. For older students, worked solutions are provided.
Any student can be set work from any level, meaning that students can be set work which is appropriate to their current level, ensuring that differentiated teaching and learning can be implemented and managed very easily.

This also means that any gaps which a student has in their knowledge and understanding can be easily filled.
Diagnostic Tests are designed to identify gaps in a student's prior knowledge and determine their current level of understanding in a given topic. The adaptive learning system uses the data from the test and student performance to identify the areas needing revision.

MathsOnline adjusts the difficulty level of the lessons and exercises based on the student's level of understanding, ensuring that they are constantly challenged and engaged.

Providing immediate feedback and progress reports to students as they work through the program, allowing them to address any mistakes and gaps in their understanding as they go.

A detailed report to both the student and parent makes it easy to highlight any gaps.

A full range of reports available which include:

  • Individual lesson and topic summaries.
  • An analysis of all Diagnostic Tests
  • An analysis of prior knowledge on an individual student and class basis
  • Student activity by log in
  • Task reports on an individual and class basis
  • A summary of awards gained
A range of certificates from Bronze to Platinum are awarded for a student's performance in each topic. Students find this very motivational, especially when they can progress though the range of certificates as they gain mastery in a topic by attempting more questions.
